Bath Senior Center: BSC Had Low-Vision Program

The Bath Community Senior Center hosted a program from Low Vision Specialist Linda Youngblood of The Department for The Blind and Vision Impaired in Staunton.

She talked about and displayed devices available to the visually impaired; charts,light magnifiers, large calculators and watches, clocks and pocket talkers. Eligibility requirements for complete assistance were discussed. Specialists may even be available to come to a client’s home for evaluation. Everyone learned something!

Members were impressed with the news that prescription glasses with built in sunglasses, photosensitive, do not work in one’s car behind the glass! It was very informative.
